Martin has been in the Remarketing industry since 1991 some 33 years, his career in the industry started at National Car Auctions in Colchester when it was a family run business and joined as a new business salesperson for the business obtaining corporate clients with fleet disposals. Within 4 years he was the Sales Director for NCA across their 6 auction sites nationwide.

In the late 90’s NCA was bought out by Manheim along with two other auction houses to form Manheim UK as part of the cox enterprises organisation who were the largest auction house in North America. Martin ran the largest site in the UK as General manager of Colchester which was a 32 acre site selling over 30,000 cars per annum and represented 33% of the UK groups profit which had 11 sites. Martin went on to be the Corporate Sales Director for Manheim UK for over 10 years and was part of the UK Remarketing board overseen by the US.

In 2011 after 20 years with NCA/Manheim Martin was approached by Aston Barclay Car Auctions to join their management team which was a family run business with 4 sites across the country, Joining as General manager of the Chelmsford site he became part of the senior management team working for the Scarborough family and was recruited to bring a more corporate feel to the family business. In 2016 Martin was part of a management buyout funded by private equity and became Group Operations Director of the Aston Barclay business. Martin was a main board director of Aston Barclay from 2016 until he left in July 2022 and was the Chief Customer officer responsible for all Vendor and Buyer customers for the entire company.

Martin was Ismael’s line manager when he was the Group Operations Director at Aston Barclay and always stayed in contact and once Ismael realised, he was becoming a free agent he approached Martin to assist Liquid fleet in their quest for growth and strategic forward planning by joining the management team to assist Ismael and Dirk with the MBO and the long term future of Liquid Fleet.
